Same-day SR-22 and FR-44 filings
We file SR-22 and FR-44 forms electronically with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) in Tallahassee, typically the same business day you bind a policy. Florida normally processes the filing within 24 to 48 hours, after which you can pay your license-reinstatement fee and your driving privileges are active again.
SR-22 vs. FR-44 — which do you need?
Florida uses the FR-44 form for most DUI / DWI convictions and the SR-22 for most other violations (no-insurance tickets, multiple at-fault accidents, repeat license suspensions). The FR-44 requires four times the Florida minimum liability limits — currently $100,000 bodily injury per person, $300,000 per accident, and $50,000 property damage — which makes the underlying policy noticeably more expensive than a standard SR-22.
Non-owner SR-22 available
Don't own a vehicle? You can still satisfy the SR-22 (or FR-44) requirement through a non-owner policy that covers you when driving someone else's car or a rental. Premiums are typically much lower than owner-operator filings because no specific vehicle is on the policy. We work with several carriers that offer non-owner SR-22 in Florida.
